If I could invent one thing to make the world a better place, it would be a machine that turns dead grasses and trees new again. Old dead burned grass would be brought back to life, and tree stumps would grow back into healthy new ones. They can continue to make more oxygen and keep the earth alive, and we could have fresher more polluted air.

Super Villan

 

I am a super villan, the dark creature of the night. I call myself the Angel from the Shadows. I was born with these powers, passed down from generation to generation. Me and my people forest under the ground, and feast during the night. I look like a human, only I am a creature from another world. Ever notice when a forest burns down and nobody knows the origin of the burn? That's us. I have lived underground in the pits of hell with my family for thousands of eons until one day a magical spirit released me and I was free to flourish above the ground and on the earth. I have many heros who try and take me down, and I usually burn them into ashes. The World will be helpless unless another Hero can find my weakness and destroy me.

This wasn't an official class project, I decided to play around with photoshop a bit. The image on top is the original kitten photo, and below I messed with effects and smart images.

Ad Replication

For this project I chose the ad with the wood and screw because I knew it was a challenge. The ad above is my version, the one below is the original. I found is simple to change the tone of the wood color and change the saturation, but the most difficult part was manipulating the wood. I used the liquefy tool to twist and mold the wood, though unless done very slowly and delicately it is hard to master. I used the sharpen brush to sharpen up the lines in the wood a bit and refine the lines, and the burn and dodge tools helped me brighten or darken areas if necessary. The magnetic lasso allowed me to copy and paste the logo from the original ad and place it onto my own. I will be working with the liquefy tool more until I can master it.

The world would be a much better place if square apples existed. Kids can play with them like legos and then eat them when done.
